WaterCan celebrated our 11th Annual Embassy Dinner on Friday, May 6, 2005. Once again, the event was held at the historic Aberdeen Pavilion, Lansdowne Park, and the funds raised will support small-scale clean water and sanitation projects in developing countries. Embassies and High Commissions representing some 50 countries offered a delicious and varied assortment of culinary specialties from their respective kitchens and the Silent and Live Auctions were full of irresistible values!

The event was a fantastic success, grossing $113,000 for clean water and sanitation projects in developing countries. The Silent and Live Auction revenues were an integral component of this accomplishment, collectively raising an amazing $36,800!

There is little that is more important than universal access to clean water and sanitation facilities. By attending this fabulous event, guests supported WaterCan's vision of "Clean Water for All!" Everyone who has attended the Embassy Dinner knows there is something special about it. Cheryl Mazak's artwork is inspired by her love of stringed instruments. All things strings and literature are her muse as she transforms the two into her artwork. She presently apprentices with an Ottawa violin-maker. Her mixed media paintings are made with broken violin parts, 3 dimensional letters, and ground iron, which is oxidized and then sealed.
